Liscio

Smooth texture

Liscio

⚫︎⚪︎⚪︎ Camel
⚫︎⚫︎⚪︎ Chestnut, Teal, Black

Origins

Liscio is an Italian word meaning "smooth. The surface is smooth and fine, with natural unevenness in color, giving the leather an elegant and tasteful look.

Tanning and Manufacturing

Vacchetta leather has been used in the Tuscany region of Italy since the early 9th century. The cowhide is tanned with vegetable tannin extracted from chesnut and mimosa, and then soaked in oil slowly and finished with dyes. The more the leather is used, the more the oil soaks into the leather, deepening its color and luster.

Maintenance

Since it contains sufficient oil inside, oil care is not necessary unless you are concerned about scratches or dryness. We recommend dry brushing with a soft cloth on a daily basis.

Foschia

Foggy look

Foschia

⚫︎⚪︎⚪︎ Misty Greige, Misty Ash, Misty Iris
⚫︎⚫︎⚪︎ Misty Chocolate, Misty Navy, Misty Black

Origins

Foschia is the Italian word for "fog. Foschia is characterized by a white wax-covered look like morning mist. The more the leather is used, the more the wax permeates the leather, giving it a translucent appearance.

Tanning and Manufacturing

The leather is made from the shoulders of adult Scandinavian cows. After vegetable tanning, the surface is lightly buffed and white waxed. The tanning material used is cod, a legume native to South America. Although rare, it is the lightest colored vegetable tannin and has a lightfast finish. It can be tanned whiter than usual, and the beautiful light color is achieved using only dyes, not pigments.

Maintenance

Wax gradually permeates into the leather, giving it an elegant and natural shine. Since it also contains a moderate amount of oil, oil care is not necessary unless you are concerned about scratches or dryness.
Light colors have a delicate surface and are more prone to stains and scratches, so care should be taken when handling them.

Towards a sustainable future

Mushroom

⚫︎⚫︎⚪︎

Origins

Japan's first mushroom leather.
The surface is not covered with synthetic resin, andthe natural coloring and unevenness of the mushroom's mycelium as it is, gives it an attractive look. The brownish area is the result of the mushroom's attempt to growand no two pieces are alike in terms of pattern and color shade.

Tanning and Manufacturing

Thin layers of mushroom mycelium are tanned and coated with a natural protein called casein, without dyeing or coloring. The natural finish makes the most of the individuality of the material.
Contains no PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or PU (polyurethane), making it an environmentally friendly material that is recyclable and returns to nature.

Maintenance

Although the material is delicate to water, it has natural patterns and shades and blends well with stains and dirt. As it ages, the more it is used, the shinier it becomes.
Since it is less oily than cowhide, we recommend that you touch it often or maintain it regularly with Natural Beeswax.
