Redefining the thin wallet.

What is a slim wallet?

"Slim wallets" until now

What kind of wallet is a slim wallet?

For example, like a fragment case, a wallet that is thin when empty.
Certainly, it looks thin and smart.
However, its storage capacity is limited, and if you try to store too much, it will lose its shape and compromise both its appearance and usability.

So, is it a compact wallet that can store efficiently?
It's designed to maintain its slimness even when items are stored, by arranging cards and bills rationally.
However, if the contents increase with daily use, the storage will eventually reach its limit, and the wallet will gradually become thicker.

Until now, slim wallets have been valued for their "slim form."
But we are looking at the essence beyond that.

Remaining slim and staying with you

What's truly important is staying slim and staying with you.

For us, a "slim wallet" is not just a form, but an experience itself.
If it's only thin in appearance, it cannot maintain that slimness with daily use.

What's needed is a structure where stored items don't accumulate easily with each use.

Causes of a wallet getting thick

The contents of a wallet change little by little in daily life.
Cards, bills, receipts, and coins.

Among these, coins are the most likely to affect the thickness of a wallet.

Why coins create thickness

If pockets are designed to be thin, the wallet's thickness might be suppressed.
However, structures that open and close with metal, or pockets that are too cramped or too deep, make coins difficult to retrieve.
As a result, coins are used less often and accumulate in the wallet with each payment.
And this accumulation creates the thickness of the wallet.

Simply making the coin pocket smaller does not make a slim wallet successful.
In fact, if it becomes inconvenient to use because it's too small, the wallet will quickly become thick or cease to be used.

Structure that prevents coins from accumulating

What's truly important is that coins don't accumulate easily.

・Easy to see
・Easy to organize
・Easy to retrieve

Only with such ease of use can coins not accumulate and the wallet continue to be used while remaining slim.

Slimness is not just created by form.
It is naturally maintained as a result of pursuing usability.

Implementation of Hitoe®

For example, the coin pocket of the Hitoe® Fold has the following features:

・Shallow and highly visible
・Coins naturally align just by putting them in
・Has an appropriate gusset, not cramped, and easy to retrieve
・Can access bills and coins simultaneously just by opening the wallet

We have clearly designed it with the intention of making coins easy to use and preventing them from accumulating.

Similarly, the "Floating U" coin pocket of the Hitoe® L-zip L is designed with the same concept.
