The small, thin long wallet "Hitoe® L-zip L" has received two design awards: the "2026 Good Design Award" and the "German Design Award 2027."
Hitoe® L-zip L is a long wallet designed to remain thin even when filled by eliminating the "overlapping" of cards, banknotes, and coins.
Good Design Award Jury Evaluation
Even in an era of advancing cashless payments, the reality is that, particularly in Japan, it is impossible to completely part with cash, including coins. Given this, the demand for long wallets remains strong, and this product is highly regarded for its meticulous design in every detail, creating a "wallet that can be used with thin, smart movements." The "Floating U" coin storage structure, which cleverly utilizes the space above two separate card storage areas, is excellent and highly convenient. It is a masterpiece packed with solid expertise and dedication that only a manufacturer who has crafted numerous wallets could realize.
German Design Award 2027
The German Design Award is an international design prize organized by the German Design Council, Germany's institution for design promotion.
Hitoe® L-zip L received a "Winner" award in the "Excellent Product Design – Lifestyle and Fashion" category. For SYRINX, this is our second award following the Hitoe® Fold Less.

Rethinking the long wallet convention that "it gets thick when filled"
The main reason a wallet becomes thick is not just the thickness of the contents themselves.
In standard wallets, the various pockets for cards, banknotes, and coins, as well as their contents, overlap. With the Hitoe® L-zip L, we rethought this "overlapping" from a structural perspective.
By arranging cards, banknotes, and coins in positions where they do not overlap, we have achieved both high storage capacity and thinness.
Even with 10 banknotes, 10 coins, and 8 cards inside, the thickness is only about 10mm.
Essential items, smaller and thinner
The size of the Hitoe® L-zip L is approximately 169 × 92mm.
Using the size needed to store Japanese banknotes without folding as a baseline, we determined the essential dimensions for a long wallet.
Hitoe® L-zip L was redesigned not for the sake of "storing more," but for the sake of carrying essentials more rationally.
