SYRINX's first alternative leather product, coming soon

Plant-Derived Leather Alternatives
Currently, most plant-derived leather alternatives are made by synthesizing polyurethane resin with plant-derived raw materials. Development is underway worldwide, and numerous varieties have emerged, such as pineapple leaves, mushrooms, cacti, apples, and coffee beans. There are three main manufacturing methods:
- Drying and breaking down the material into particles, then mixing it with resin and processing it into a sheet.
- Processing fibrous material into a non-woven base, then coating it with resin.
- Cultivating mycelium, compressing it, and then coating it with a resin layer.
The shift of some conventionally petroleum-derived raw materials to natural origins is a sustainable and wonderful trend. Furthermore, synthetic resins themselves are continually evolving, with an increasing proportion of plant-derived content.
However, when the surface layer is a resin layer, the appearance, texture, and durability tend to be similar to conventional synthetic leather and artificial leather.
Expressions that Highlight the Uniqueness of the Material
Is there a plant-derived leather alternative that doesn't rely on synthetic resin to fix it, and instead allows the unique characteristics of the material to shine through?
The photos shown at the beginning are of plant-derived leather alternatives sourced from around the world in search of such materials.
- Sheets made from carob beans and natural rubber from Portugal
- Lubugo (fig tree bark) from Uganda
- Sheets made by cultivating mushroom mycelium
- Tanned material made by cultivating large mushrooms from subtropical regions
All of these are not only made from naturally derived raw materials but also contain no synthetic resin components. And their appeal lies in the unique expressions that highlight the individuality of the material.
SYRINX's Commitment
SYRINX is committed to leather alternatives that are not only naturally derived, as mentioned above, but also plastic-free and highlight the unique characteristics of the material. We have pursued the unique appearance and texture of these materials.
Further details will be announced soon. Please look forward to it.
