Ezo sika deer leather from Hokkaido is promoted by more trees, an incorporated association headed by musician Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The Ezo sika deer, which inhabit the entire Hokkaido region, have a strong reproductive capacity and are increasing in number until they destroy all vegetation in the forests. As a result, more than 100,000 head of deer have been captured each year in recent years.

Although deer have been recognized as gibier in recent years, unlike livestock, the supply of wild deer varies widely, and there are many challenges in slaughter, distribution, and marketing, making it difficult to make effective use of the deer.
In particular, deer leather is almost always discarded without effective use due to bullet holes, processing difficulties, and wild wounds.
Deerskin currently circulating in Japan is imported from China, New Zealand, Australia, and other countries, and accounts for as much as 98% of all deerskin.
The reality is that it is difficult to mass-produce Ezo deerskin because it requires tanning, which is costly and time-consuming, and production is not stable.

Also, captured deer are allowed to be buried as they are if it is difficult to take them home or bring them to a slaughterhouse. However, bears will dig even very deep holes if they smell them. The recent increase in the number of bears in Japan is not unrelated to the increase in the number of deer and the lack of effective use of these animals.

We, who have taken away wolves, our natural enemy, for our own reasons, have a responsibility to respect the life of Ezo sika deer, Hokkaido's bounty of nature, and use it carefully until the end.
With this in mind, we came up with the idea of using Ezo deerskin for speakers.
In order to protect a sustainable forest environment, we will create these speakers and expand the new possibilities of Ezo deerskin while giving thanks for the lives of Ezo deers.

Because Ezo deers are wild animals that roam the mountains and fields, their leather contains many natural scars, wrinkles, and blemishes.
In addition, Ezo deerskin is not only strong, but also has many voids between fibers, giving it a unique softness and excellent sound absorption. Its matte and deep look is also attractive. It is tanned with tannin, and its color and luster will deepen with the passage of time.

Clear sound created by soft leather

Two speakers made of soft leather, named "LOG," create an unprecedented clear sound. The clear sound spreads naturally throughout the space, just like a musical instrument, and fills you with a sense of presence, as if you were listening to the performance right in front of you.
The system can be placed anywhere to create the best background music environment in living rooms, cafes, offices, hotels, and other places.

The latest technology x traditional technique

The leather is precisely processed by the latest laser cutter, and then hand-stitched by SYRINX's skilled craftsmen using a traditional European harness stitching technique called couture serie (saddle stitch). Each stitch is carefully tightened, resulting in a very beautiful finish. Unlike machine stitching, hand stitching has two independent threads that support the leather stitching, so even if one of the threads breaks, the other thread will firmly support the leather stitching and will not fray.

1. soft leather enclosure

Conventional speakers with hard bodies made of wood or metal are strongly affected by incidental sounds caused by resonance and reverberation. A "leather enclosure" made of leather is as soft as skin. It is flexible, has no resonance at specific frequencies, has good impulse response, so there is no reverberation, and its high sound insulation prevents internal sound leakage, resulting in a delicate, clear sound with almost no incidental sound.

2. unique floating mount (patented technology)

The speaker units are vibration-isolated from the enclosure using a unique floating mount that does not use screws or adhesives, resulting in a refined clarity of sound.
The tension anchor that pulls the speaker unit downward enhances the adhesiveness of the speaker unit and prevents internal sound leakage. At the same time, it suppresses microvibrations caused by the reaction force of the diaphragm and improves the response to minute sounds.
Compared to anchors using weights or fixed anchors, tension anchors are lighter, thinner, and do not interfere with the progress of internal sound waves.

3. Amazingly high sound quality amplifier

A palm-sized digital amplifier "ECO" is included that produces powerful bass with no distortion and clear, noise-free mids and highs. 24 hours of use per day results in a monthly electricity bill of only 1 yen (0.05W, 30 days, 27 yen/kWh). It uses less power than the standby power of a conventional amplifier and reproduces everything from high tones to powerful low tones.
The amplifier is designed to linearly amplify the sound source by eliminating filters, tone controls, and other elements that degrade sound quality. The power source can be any USB port around you.
