About Museum Calf
Artistic Beauty of Rich Gradation
Museum Calf is a leather inspired by the marbled patterns of natural stone.
True to its name, it is created using an artistic dyeing method in which craftsmen apply multiple layers of color by hand, resulting in beautiful tonal variations.
The finish preserves the delicate texture unique to calf leather, and the polished surface emits a refined luster that deepens with use.

A new patented technology that uses the card itself as a clasp. It achieves a thin, flat design without any metal fittings. If you insert the card incorrectly, the wallet won't open, so there's no worry of coins accidentally spilling out.

The "Hitoe® structure" arranges cards, coins, and bills side by side without overlapping, achieving astonishing thinness without sacrificing storage capacity. The number of leather layers is also minimized to a maximum of 5.

About Museum Leather
Origins
Museum Calf is a leather created by the prestigious Italian tannery ILCIA, inspired by the marbled patterns of marble. True to its name, beautiful tonal variations are created through a painterly process in which artisans apply multiple layers of dye.
In addition to a dye finish that highlights the delicate texture unique to calfskin, the polished grain side exudes an elegant sheen and develops a deeper luster with use.
Tanning and Manufacturing
Made from fine-grained, premium French calfskin hides.
After chrome tanning, skilled artisans repeatedly apply pure aniline dye using a technique called "hand tampon dyeing." This process creates a translucent, artistic marbled pattern. The grain side is then carefully polished with glass, resulting in a sophisticated, lustrous finish.
LWG (Leather Working Group) Gold-Rated Environmental Certification.
Maintenance
While it offers the high durability of chrome-tanned leather, its dye finish highlights the natural character of the leather, so care should be taken to avoid scratches and water stains.
If it gets wet, wipe it immediately with a soft cloth, and regularly remove dust from the surface with a soft cloth or leather brush.

Q&A | Hitoe® FoldQ. I can't open and close it smoothly. Are there any tips?
Opening and closing the wallet smoothly is easier if you follow these steps.
【Opening】Bend the seam between the coin pocket and card pocket into a "V" shape, and the inner hook will naturally disengage. There is no need to touch the inner hook directly.
【Closing】While lightly holding the top, bend it into a "V" shape in the same way, and the inner hook will naturally catch on the card.
Q. The wallet gets distorted when closed.
This is because the inner hook is hooked on the outside of the wallet. Please make sure to hook it only on the cards you are storing.
Q. The cards are difficult to take out, and it feels tight.
The card pocket is intentionally designed to be slightly tight so that it does not become too loose, which may make it feel tight at first. Over time, it will gradually adapt to your usage and become a perfect fit, making cards easier to take out.
If it is still too tight, try taking one fewer card out and putting it back in several times to break in the leather before using it.
Q. Will the cards fall out?
When the wallet is closed, the inner hook catches the cards, so they will not fall out.
Even when open, the cards are less likely to fall out because of the non-slip treatment.
The Hitoe® Fold Aria and Hitoe® Fold Less, with a slip-resistant design (Patent No. 7922958), are even less likely to fall out.
Please note that when the wallet is laid flat horizontally, the non-slip treatment is less effective, as shown in the video.
Q. Will the coins spill out?
The wallet has a cover that prevents coins from spilling out, so they will not spill out during normal use. As the leather breaks in, it will become even more secure.
Please note that because this wallet has a vertical design, coins are more likely to spill out if you open it horizontally like a typical bifold wallet.
Q. The sound of the coins bothers me.
When putting the wallet in your pocket, store it so that the coin pocket is vertical to reduce the sound of the coins. This also makes the coins automatically align more easily.
Q. Will coins spill out if I open it upside down?
You can rest assured that if you turn the wallet upside down, the inner hook will not disengage, and the wallet will not open.
The front can be identified as follows (for right-handed users).
- No stitching on the right side
- The right side is the side where the cards are more visible
Q. Should I choose the right-handed or left-handed version?
Please choose based on the hand you use to handle money and cards.
Q. Is it okay to stack cards with magnetic stripes?
Recent magnetic stripes have strong magnetic resistance, so there is no problem stacking them. It also has no effect on IC chips even when stacked.
However, older magnetic cards may have weakened magnetism, so as a precaution, we recommend storing them in a different direction so that the magnetic stripes do not overlap.
